A charitable organization focused on providing free public services, Jefferson County Rescue Mission, Inc. in Pevely, MO offers food baskets, basic clothing, and small appliances to those in need. Our food pantry is filled with perishable and non-perishable items which are always ready to be given to our beneficiaries. We also have a soup kitchen which is open to anyone who is hungry.
In 1978, Michael and Louise Sardo opened the doors of their home to help needy people in their community. To reach more people, they rented a storefront property in Herculaneum, MO in 1981. Today, the Jefferson County Rescue Mission as we know it now, has been operating at our current location since 1993.
We always aim to make the public more aware of our free public services and hopefully bring in new donors for our programs. For more than 38 years, we have been serving the homeless, hungry people, the unemployed, and victims of abuse. Without plans of ceasing, our organization also serves as an “Operation Weather Survival” station for low-income families and individuals lacking resources during extreme weather conditions.
